HAS BEEN IN A WORD... FRUSTRATING

The stupid SMITH BARNEY people who were sending us the check for our car sent it to our old address instead of our new one EVEN THOUGH Joe told them to send it to the new address, so we have been waiting and SUFFERING in this RECORD BREAKING HEAT, waiting for a check that wasnt coming. I filled out our mail forwarding paperwork, but Adam says that it can take 2 weeks for them to forward you your mail, and that is just NOT OKAY! Scarlett now refuses to get into the car, and cries the whole way because she hates our car THAT MUCH!

I know I'm a little loud today, but I am at the end of my rope. Joe and I last night just sat in our bed trying to figure out a way to raise some money for ourselves. We both thought of a car wash to benefit the Rawlins family. I said we could put a picture of Scarlett all sad on the poster and then everyone will want to donate to our sad cause. Then I started to cry thinking about how much my baby suffers in that stupid car. Scarlett was grumpy again this morning, so I made her go down for a nap. She will be waking up for a bottle here soon though, so I better get my stuff together. I'm hungry so we'll probably go get some lunch.

Last week when my mom came over I took a picture on my photo booth to show her. It is also the first day I REALIZED that headscarves are GREAT when you have no hair!

So apparently there is a holiday weekend approaching. It hasn't really crossed our mind at our house as we're so preoccupied in thought with the frustrations of waiting on this check. Yesterday we couldnt find Joe's cell phone, and so I searched HIGH AND LOW and eventually found it in the chair in Scarlett's room. Joe has decided to put his sim card back into his RAZR phone because he CAN'T STAND the Nokia I was using. Oh well. I think Im going to go clean all the garbage out of our car. That will make it less stressful when we go to pick up Joe from work as foot room is limited at the moment. I am so excited for the new car, and Kimmy was telling me that auto insurance is SUPER CHEAP on it! All my love.

Sunday

So today is Sunday, and I have to say I'm a little sad to see the weekend end. It's so nice to have Joe home and be able to spend time as a family. Joe's birthday went well, was fairly uneventful, but he said it was a good one. We ended up going to see the CRV and we want to buy it. The check still hasn't come in the mail yet, so we are still on hold to buy the car until the money comes. I am SO EXCITED to get into a car that has A/C. I will not miss having to torture my baby with this heat. I think before this a/c thing happened, I sounded like a much happier person, but there is nothing like being hot, to cause a person to be a little irritable. oh well.

I think Scarlett is starting to feel better. She has gone back to taking good naps, and the ant situation is FINALLY resolved!! I can hear all of your sighs in relief! Scarlett is as we speak asleep in her crib in HER ROOM. Im so happy to have my bed back! Now that the ants are no longer a problem, I'll be tackling the 1 or 2 loads of laundry I've been neglecting. Joe's napping too right now, so Its kind of a sleepy afternoon here.

We went and saw the Nanny Diaries. (pic from movie on left) It was pretty good. Not the best Ive seen, probably wont ever see it again, but it was good. We like to go see movies in the morning, because there are less people in the theatre for Scarlett to bother with her babling.

She is 8 mos old now, and rolling all over the place. She is my everything. Its amazing how I can just pick her up when she's totally upset and just hold her in my arms, and she instantly calms. Its not like I was taught some special way to calm her down, or anything. Joe says "Its not what you do, its who you are". Im her Mom, and she knows that Mom makes everything better. I miss my mom. I'd like to spend more time with her. But life is busy and times get chaotic. I know that isnt a good enough reason. I'm going to have to find a way to catch up with her this week.


I also got some great deals on clothes this weekend. We went and checked out that "My Sister's Closet" second-hand store over on Queen Creek and Alma School, and they have a "womens" section with some pretty nice plus sized clothes. I got a really cute LB shirt for $10 and also found a cool purse and necklace there. Then I just recently discovered that there IS a Lane Bryant in the Chandler Mall! (that is the funniest old ad i just found and put on the right there!) You have no idea how long I have been brooding that there was no plus size stores in that mall, and then I finally found it, and they were having a big sale! An additional 60% off the clearance prices! So I got a pair of shorts and a pair of capris and a tank for $35. that is SUPERB for LB! I saved $50! I love a good deal, as you well know!

Blogging is really starting to grow on me. I love to be able to write down everything thats going on and know that everyone I know has access to it, so if they want to know whats going on, they can find out without having to make a dozen calls :).

Happy Bday, Joe!

Today is National Spongecake day, as well as Joe's 27th b-day! Birthdays are a big deal to me. My birthday in my eyes is like a national holiday, it just should not be messed with. I'm hoping they dont make Joe work late today. I told him if they tried to make him work late that he could tell them that his wife said to remind them its his b-day. He doesn't think that will work. Scarlett is taking her morning nap. She usually goes down for her nap at some point during the Price is Right. between 9-10. The cable people better come today, because Joe is really looking forward to having cable again. I am hoping to be able to borrow Wendy's pack and play so that Joe and I can have our bedroom back tonight. Rita is going to come watch Scarlett to night, so that will be nice. We are meeting up with the guy with the red CRV tonight. Friday is the other Molly Shumway's bachelor-ette party, and I am not sure if I am going to go or not. I really need to clean my house up and get everything in order, because Saturday we are hoping to have some of Joes friends over to celebrate his birthday. If anyone has patio furniture they dont want, we would love to take it off of your hands.

update

Scarlett is down for her nap, so I now have a moment to update. The pest control guy came today, and put some really powerful stuff on the floorboards in Scarletts room and I think it is working in there, but now an hour after they've left there are now ants in the doorway between my laundry room and kitchen! So I put down the two other bait traps they gave me for ants, and I am hoping that will solve the problem. I dont exactly feel like climbing over ants to do the laundry. They say I it will take 2 days for all the ants to be dead in Scarlett's room, so that is two more days of crappy sleep for me. We are going to probably borrow a pack and play from Wendy so that we can have Scarlett sleep in the living room.

So we went to lunch with Joe and his department from work at California Pizza Kitchen, and I got the same thing I got last time I went there, only it didnt seem to settle right, and I had to run inside with explosive diarrhea and then run back outside to get my baby out of her carseat!

Joe's birthday is tomorrow! He will be 27. This year I turn 23, can you believe that? Joe's mom offered to watch Scarlett so we can go see a movie tomorrow, though we may shop around for cars instead. This heat thing is just ridiculous, with a record-breaking hot summer. It will be nice when they install the cable tomorrow to have more to watch in the daytime. I do not watch soap operas or court tv shows, and that is all they put on in the free daytime tv. SO irritating.

Wow I'm negative today, lol. If anyone ever wants to come over and swim at our awesome pool let me know, I want to take Scarlett but it would be more fun if someone came with us! Maybe Scarlett and I will try it out this afternoon after she wakes up.

Shumway gathering

So tonight there was a Shumway gathering at a park because my cousin Garrod was in town. I totally forgot. Ive been planning to go to it for quite some time now, but I am absent minded these days as my baby has been sick and she has been taking the majority of my attention and brain cells to handle.

So we didn't get there until everyone was either leaving or had already left, plus our baby was like dying of heat exhaustion from our freaking car that has no a/c, and we brought Pirates fish and chips with us to share cause it was a potluck, but everyone was gone. Then I forgot Scarletts formula so as soon as we got there Joe had to run to walgreens and buy a new can... grr.

Im starting to reconsider attending family gatherings, because a lot of times I feel like it was not entirely worth all the effort that went into getting there, nor does it seem like it meant much to the people there that I actually went, and my husband usually looks like he is suffering through the whole event anyway, so that only makes them that much less appealing. I will be glad when Scarlett is 100% well, but the o.t.c. medicine the pharmacist recomended for Scarlett really helped her sleep last night and get some good rest today, so I am really excited to see the light at the end of this tunnel.

The pest control people are coming Wednesday, and the Cable and internet people are coming Thursday, so my goal is that by Friday hopefully things can go back to somewhat normal, and I can stop neglecting the laundry that has piled up the past few days. My mom offered to come over and help with some things tomorrow so maybe she can help me get everything ready and put away so that the pest control people can have good access to everything. We'll see how that goes.

Sorry this turned into a lengthy post. Im really hoping that Scarlett has finally fallen asleep; she is sleeping in my bed until all of this ant business gets resolved and my Joey is on the couch. I miss him in bed with me. I like the love.

Hopefully we will be into a new car this week! Heres a few pics of the car we will hopefully be getting. It is a '97 Honda CRV with only 117k miles on it and its RED!

We found it on Craigs list. We will probably go test drive it tomorrow. We are still waiting for our 401k loan to come in the mail, so we are hoping the guy doesn't sell it before we can get the money together, the bluebook supposedly on it is 7600 and we offered him 6000, and that is going to be hard enough for us to come up with. But no matter how much of a headache it is for a few weeks to get the money together, it will be so worth it to have a car that has air conditioning, and that looks like something I WANT to drive. Ive been waiting for this day for years.

the ordeal that began last Wednesday

ANTS SUCK!




we had been moved into our house for less than a week when Scarlett's room was suddenly invaded by ANTS! yes, thats right. And let me tell you, there is nothing worse than going in to check on your child, picking her up out of her bed, and finding ants and ant bites all over her! The maintenance people came over right away and left a few ant bait things, but they just are not cutting it. As it is, Scarlett has not been feeling well, has a cold, and now we have this ant problem. I am really frustrated, and pest control will not come until Wednesday!

You may remember how I dilligently set up for the Qwest people to come install my cable and internet? Well, they did not come during their scheduled window on Friday, and so they were not able to come in and set up the cable because they came at 1:15 instead of in the window of 7am to noon. So now, I rescheduled this morning, and have to plan to be home all day Thursday in case they decide to not come in their scheduled window. lovely huh?

last night

Yesterday was Jan's bday. It was so funny because it started out as just me and Jan were going to see a movie, but then when I told Wendy I was taking Jan to the movie, she said she wanted to come, so then it was going to be Wendy, Jan and I. Then when I told my mom that we were going to the movie, she said she wanted to go. Then I talked to Sarah and had mentioned we may get something to eat before we go to the movie, and so she helped me to decide where we would go, and she decided she wanted to come too. So, I got to applebees, and got a table for 4 (because my mom was going to meet us after we ate to go to the movie as she had a meeting around 5) but then mom's meeting got out early, so she wanted to come to eat at applebees too. So I figured, we'd just add a chair for her. Then I turned around and there was Adam Nikki and Karsyn. We were definitely going to need a bigger table; well needless to say it took the applebees hosts 1 and a half hours to find us a big enough table, so we missed the movie, and almost missed happy hour. But Jan got some really nice gifts, and she seemed to enjoy her meal, so I think all in all it turned out nice.

My little Scarlett has a runny nose, and it is very bothersome to her. I think I may have to take her to the doctor, because she is not sleeping very well because she cant breathe with that stuffy nose. This is her first runny nose ever, and she's 8 mos old now. I think thats pretty impressive, but I still hate that she is sick at all. Sending our love.

Im starving and its only 9:30 in the morning. that is no good, since I dont get the car until lunch time, whenever Joe gets a break. I gtg, Scarlett dropped her bottle.

Great news!

Luckily, one of our kind neighbors has wi fi connection that is not password protected, which means we will still have internet until our cable and internet are installed on friday! Hooray! So yesterday was the big move day. We are all exhausted, Scarlett included. She has been such a good girl this morning SLEEPING :) haha. At first the a/c wasnt working very good in her room but then once we opened the vents, we went to check on her in the middle of the night and she was a little popsicle (apparently I dont know how to spell that!) So we had to put her in to her footy pajamas and bundle her in a blanket and give her a warm bottle, and then she went right back to sleep. She is such a sweet little girl.

Last night we decided to go to dinner. We ate at California Pizza Kitchen just outside Chandler Mall. It was yummy. I got portabella mushroom stuffed raviolis with sauteed mushrooms on top it was SO YUMMY. I had the left overs just now and they were marvelous as well. My house is still surrounded in boxes, which are overwhelming me... I really cant wait until I have everything organized again. I miss being able to just walk over and pick something up where I know I left it. I didnt even pack a lot of these boxes so I have no idea whats in them. Last night I spent about an hour looking for some clean underwear for Joe haha. If anyone has some free time and wants to come help me they're welcome. oh the joys of moving. I gotta go, I think Scarlett wants to get up now. Comments always appreciated :) love.

Daddys home!

Joey got home on Wednesday around 3:45ish. It is so good to have him back. He is so wonderful. He has all of today off, which is great, because we have missed him so. Also we're trying to move our stuff. If anybody has a truck they want to offer for assistance this weekend, we'll take the help! We have a crib, changing table, a couch, a loveseat, and our bed and 2 tv's as far as big furniture goes. We will try to move the big stuff tomorrow.

Joe drew me a beautiful fairy this morning. It makes me really want to go get another tattoo. I know that comes with mixed reviews from the onlookers, but no worries, I have no visible tattoos, so calm down.

Scarletts napping at the moment, and when she wakes up it is bath time. Joe went to go to Filibertos to get burritos for breakfast, cause we're hungry mungry. Joe has had my camera all week while he was out of town, so that is the reason for lack of photos. gtg. he's back with the food. i love you all, and hope to hear back.

MY day in a rather large nutshell.

THIS WAS ME THIS MORNING:

Im already overwhelmed and its not even 8 am yet!

We need to go sign the lease at our new apartment, and I need to pay both this apartment and the new one. I need to cancel Cox and APS here, and set up Quest and SRP at the new place. What a bother that they dont have the same friggin services at the new place!!! I also need to make an appointment to get my depo shot today, and go check our mail, and give joe a haircut before he leaves tomorrow for Vegas for work. UGH!

Im so tired. I had to get up with the baby this morning, and because there is so much to do I couldnt go back to sleep, so I now have a headache and no caffiene in the house. what a rough morning!

ITS NOW 11:30 AND HERES MY PROGRESS:

So I set up for APS to disconnect on the 20th, as well as our Cox. I called Qwest and got the rates for the cable and emailed my mother-in-law to see if she would still want to pay our cable bill when it is definitely more expensive than cox was, and am waiting on a response from that. I made an apointment for 2:30 to get the depo shot. Im washing Joe's clothes for his trip because I know he wont have time to do it himself. I'll pack up his stuff for him too, so he wont have to stress about it. I just need to switch the loads about now.

I just finished giving Scarlett a bath, and Joe will be home at noon, at which point hopefully we can go get the lease signed, and pay them the $220 for the first month. I dropped off the rent at the Fairways while Scarlett was napping. Apparently SRP wants to charge me a $240 deposit to turn on my power which really pisses me off. I dont have the money for that! I guess we'll just have to wait until the 10th to pay that deposit (when we get paid again).

3:00 NOW:

We got to sign the lease on Joe's lunch break, then I just had to take him straight back to work, and then went and got some lunch with Scarlett at the Remmington Gril. Scarlett ate an entire thing of Sweet Potatoes. She likes those. The wings and salad I got there were really good, and their Mr. Pibb was a good mix, though it is REALLY hard to take a little girl who has to sit in one of those crummy high chairs that are made of wood, because the whole time you are somewhat scared they will find a way to fall right out of it.

At any rate I feel pretty good with my successes of the day. Joe says he is going to be working really late. I am hoping my sister in law Nikki W. will call me so that I can go see Jan at the hospital today. I didnt get to go yesterday.

Scarlett looks really cute with her yellow bow and onesie with the lemon wedge on it that says "pucker up". I just laid her in her bed because we have had an exhausting day, and I am sure she could use a real nap. She fell asleep in the car when we got to the Drs office, I pulled her out of her car seat and she slept in my arms for a good 20 minutes, but that is not an adequate nap time.

Now complete with bow and all, Scarlett is wearing her new outfit from the Baby Gap. It says "nuts for you". It needed the bow so that everybody would know she was a girl all in brown and white, and thanks to lovely Kim, here she is!

good morning

Last night I went and saw Janice in the hospital. I stayed for about an hour and a half. It was really hard to see her that way and in so much discomfort. I hope this morning when they checked her breathing levels she did better. I just really want her to come back. To me it seemed like she was making progress with her breathing while I was there. The machine breathes for her 14 times a minute, and she was breathing an average of 18-19 times a minute total, so that means she was trying to breathe on her own 4-5 times a minute, so I think she is getting better. The night nurse seemed to be taking pretty good care of her.

So I was supposed to make sure Joe woke up this morning which was NO EASY TASK. Instead I just got crappy sleep, because he wouldnt get up even when he told me the time he wanted to get up. But its ultimately his decision when he gets up, so I think I am just going to stop trying to remind him to get up since he still only gets up when he wants to. The past few days I have had to do most of the baby work, because Joe has been working so much and is so tired.

Today we can go sign the lease at our new place and even start moving in if we want. I still also have to make the calls to get the electricity changed to our name and to the company SRP from APS we have here and look into Qwest (changing from Cox which we have here), which apparently is our only option at the new place. But Im sure it will be fine.

Im still very tired this morning. I hope Scarlett takes a good morning nap. Good news is I feel like Im still getting a lot of traffic on my myspace and on my blog making them both worthwhile upkeep so that makes me feel good. Thats all for now.
