7 Random facts about myself

So thank you, Taryn Choate (http://www.rtbchoate.blogspot.com/), I have now been tagged, and have to write 7 RANDOM facts about myself.. which should be fun... but I feel the pressure... So here goes.

1. I am horrible at keeping up with Joe's and my laundry. I have no trouble keeping up with Scarlett's cute little clothes, but our clothes, are just big, and boring, and so I am not very good at keeping up with washing them.

2. I love to eat out. I don't know how to cook very many things, and so it is so wonderful just to be able to walk into a restaurant, usually our top ones are Applebee's, Olive Garden, Serrano's, Red Robin and B.J.'s, and be able to just tell them what I want and have it brought to me. (thus, Papa John's for dinner tonight)

3. My favorite color is Red and I actually named my kid Scarlett for that reason.

4. I love holiday decorations, but I hate taking them down. As Halloween draws to an end, I have to take my witch/jack0lantern decor down, and prepare for turkey day, and then Christmas right after that.

5. I am a blog addict. I could blog up to 3 times a day, but yet I get SO SAD when people can't find the time to read and comment on them...which is SO SILLY... I know other people find better things to do with their time, like cleaning their houses, lol.

6. I live for movies, which is so sad now because we hardly ever get to go anymore now that we are parents of a 10 month old. But I even enjoy going by myself. (as long as the concession people aren't mean to me, like they were 2 times ago... but that is another story...) Sometimes I think it is a good thing that I have such a love for movies, because all my hubby can think about is making one, which helps me to have a little more tolerance than most wives would have.

7. I watch and pay attention to commercials on TV. (but maybe that is just because I don't have DVR)

Okay, now I have to tag 7 other people. After you write your random facts, you must tag 7 others, write a comment on their most recent blog so they know they were tagged, and give them the instructions.

I tag: Kim, Nikki, Cara, Camille (I dont have 7 people to tag! lol)

No shirt time

It was no-shirt time at the Rawlins house just before bathtime, and just after Daddy got a new haircut from Mommy. I love my little family.

Scarlett's costume

Wasn't she so cute? Halloween isn't even over yet, but it already feels over with the Halloween parties over the weekend. I am so tired this morning. Hope you all had a great weekend.

how DEMOCRAT are you?!

You Are 76% Democrat

You have a good deal of donkey running through your blood, and you're proud to be liberal.
You don't fit every Democrat stereotype, but you definitely belong in the Democrat party.

Looking Back

Today I just wanted to go back to when Scarlett was brand new, and be able to hold that LIGHT little, tiny, fragile baby I gave birth to again. She is just getting so big now, it is hard to remember. Go to this link to watch her tiny baby video again, you won't regret it!

Geico

I would definitely say that Geico has the best commercials hands down. I'm sure their advertising department makes bank..

A good but busy day

So today was busy. First we had Westin's b-day party, just before which we discovered that Scarlett's Halloween costume is too small, so she had to just wear regular clothes to the party.

Then after that, we came home, just to hear from Wendy, who offered to watch Scarlett Paige for us while we went to a movie, which was so incredibly sweet of her. So, we said, what the heck, lets go for it!!

We went and saw the movie, "Into the wild", and it was not so great, but it was good acting. The best part of it all is that Scarlett did awesome with Wendy and did not cry at all, whine or even throw a single fit. Wendy even gave Scarlett a bath while we were gone, and bought her a long sleeved onesie with the Mushroom and porcupine i loved so much that she had when she was a newborn, they re-introduced the line at gymbo outlet! LOVE THAT! I still have the matching blanket too.

So we came to get our baby and she was all clean, happy and cute in her new shirt. It made me so happy. I love to be happy, and it is so hard for me to get to that point these days, so thank you Wendy, for being so awesome. Then my wonderful hubby let me go out with Wendy for the evening and put our little baby to bed for me. He is such a good daddy and hubby. I am such a lucky lady. goodnight.

I can definitely relate to that, man. I tried to tidy up my living room today, and I guess I made progress, but it is hard to feel like it's enough. I went to Kimmy, Sarah and Nikki and lots of other people's Boutique today and it was really a lot of fun. I almost want to go back just so I can spend MORE MONEY that I shouldn't spend! It doesn't end until 8pm tonight and it is at the Country Inn & Suites at the 60 and Power. You should all go! Its super fun!

nap time is for suckers!

Yesterday, when I put Scarlett down for her nap, she just didn't want to go to sleep. Just when it got quiet, I looked over to her bed, which I can see from the couch with her door open, and there she was peeking between the rail and the crib.

It was just too funny, I had to get pictures!

Once I had taken her picture, she knew she had triumphed and had dodged the nap for now. The little booger. But she's just too cute.

Now we just leave the door open by a little crack so that she can't see us sitting on the couch. But it was an adorable discovery, anyway.

body art

even if you are not normally a fan of body art, you have to admit this piece is pretty amazing.

I found it on Facebook, Added by Christine Appl
to the group "Facebook's Hottest Tattoo Contest"
from the album "Tattoos".

I think she pretty much hands down won the contest. She looks just like the girl from Memoirs of a Geisha.

something nice to say

You know, sometimes I miss just sitting around and complaining. It used to be one of my FAVORITE pastimes. Jan and I could sit around and talk about all the things that sucked about the world, throw out every unpopular opinion we had about ANY topic, and just have a gay old time. These days though, it seems that every word can throw a person into a faux paux, and people take offense, and everyone's on their toes. It is so fun to have someone to talk to that you can just "say it like it is", without worry of offense. At any rate, when I put the little saying at the top of this post, it threw me into nostalgia, reminiscing all the fun times, and knowing that there will be more ahead. I am so glad that Jan recovered well from her surgery. She really had me scared. I love her so much, she is like another mom to me, and definitely has a special place in my heart.

Etiquette

After my last blog, I thought perhaps my opinion of blog etiquette might have been to extreme, but after doing some research and reading other blog posts online, I think I'm the middleground. below is a link to some well-written rules that I thought were right-on.

then on my search for blog etiquette I happened upon a very interesting blog which I am going to add to my blog list. The link below:

Life expectancy- more scientific this time!

I took a quiz that Martha Stewart talked about for life expectancy. Pretty interesting.
It says my estimated life expectancy is 88 years. not bad. Scarlett will be 66, thats plenty old enough. I'll put the link below.

it was girls night

Saturday night out with the girls was fun. It really helps me see that there is more to life. They helped me forget the issues I brought to the door, and helped me let go and have a good time.

Arm update

Well, Saturday my loving and concerned husband decided that I definitely needed to go get my arm checked out, so we went over to the urgent care over at Dobson and Frye. They x rayed me but couldn't find any breaks, so they just splinted me and gave me a prescription for Vicoden. Including the cost of the drugs, it cost us about $200. But then again that isn't too bad considering I don't have any insurance.

My wrist and arm are still really messed up, but they said if they don't get better within a week then to go see orthopedic specialist and see if they can do anything. of course we don't have money for any of that, so we are hoping it fixes itself. Being broken really does not work with my independent nature; i like to be able to do everything myself without any help and now I can only lift Scarlett with my right arm, and my knees hurt so i cant play on the floor with her. It is even hard to change my clothes or get my pants up and down to go to the bathroom. Scarlett knows that theres something wrong with me, and she doesn't like it.
but I am doing the best I can.

Scarlett's first tooth has cut through on the bottom. I can feel it, its sharp. Well gotta get my glasses away from Scarlett before she breaks them.

The New York Times

I love the New York Times. I have always wanted to break down and subscribe to it one of these days but then it occurred to me that i can just read it online every day. I think the Times do a good job of informing the public of REAL news. Things going on all over the world to keep a person well educated. I am going to add it to my links. xoxo.
