I miss the feeling of typing away on a typewriter. The sound of the keys and the ding at the end of the line. The creative feelings and sense of genius one feels while typing on a typewriter, like every stroke has importance, and urgency.
I think I want a typewriter again.
I decided to look online for people selling typewriters, and I found only one listing. I called the man and he has a workshop behind his house where he works on typewriters, and says he has them for sale that work from $40 up. He seemed happy that I called with interest. I hope I can get that money together soon and call him up to buy one, if nobody I know has one they want rid of first.

The Day's Events
7:30-8 woke up, got Scarlett ready for school
8:00-8:50- Drive Scarlett to school in Riverton
Prepare for visiting teaching
9:30-Get sick Eloise dressed and up for the day.
10:00-11:00 visiting teaching
11:00-11:55- pick up Scarlett from Montessori at Riverton and pick up lunch with disgruntled Eloise in tow.
11:55- unload kids from car. (Why did I bother doing this?)
12:00-12:15 fight the kids back into the car to drive Joe to the Airport.
12:15-1:25 driving to and from airport, most of second half trip girls slept, drive thru McDonald's for peacekeeping ice cream cones. I try not to fall asleep at the wheel, as my eyes continue to drift.
1:25-2:25 kids play, I prep more for second VT appointment. Refill Humidifier and change baby's diaper
2:30-3:00 put Eloise down for nap. Scarlett settles in to watch a movie with Grammy and Cousin Rachel
3:00-4:00 Visiting Teaching
4:30-5:00-checked on baby, sound asleep but poopy... Do you wake a sick sleeping child? Cut Scarlett's thick tangly mane and swept up the hair.
5:00-5:15 Scarlett enjoys her reward sucker for letting me cut her hair while I write down this exhausting day.
5:20 time to wake and change the poopy sleepy baby and make dinner.
Here's hoping for early bedtime? Oh ya, that's right, it's the weekend.

When morning came
No barf in Eloise's bed. Scarlett ended up in bed with me last night and was coughing really horrible throughout the night, but usually just one cough and then she would go back to sleep.
Eloise took more pedialyte when she got up and drank some water. Scarlett liked the pedialyte freeze pops. When I came back downstairs Eloise was eating frosted mini wheats from a bag i made up the day before. No barf yet and she's been up since 8. I'm optimistic. Now just to get the coughs at bay.

What a day
Woke up this morning to Scarlett not feeling well. She was incredibly cranky and clingy all morning. I gave her some Tylenol and allergy medicine because she was really not feeling well. She fell back asleep about 10 Mins after I took Eloise out of her bed. Within those 10 mins, I picked up Eloise and she promptly began to throw up and luckily we made it to the bathroom in time. She is no expert at vomiting yet, and doesn't understand the concept of barfing into something, instead she just gets it all over her clothes every time. She has vomited 3 times today.
Scarlett was a bit lethargic the day before, and didn't eat a lot, but still ate enough that I wasn't worried. Today she didn't drink much though which is my biggest concern. My friend Holly went and bought me some pedialyte and and bottled water for me, and I went right in and Eloise drank some really well, and layed right back down without complaint. Hopefully I don't find her in a pool of barf in the morning.
I am diffusing some essential oils for Scarlett while she sleeps. Her sickness is more of a cough that hurts her tummy. She did eat chicken with rice and two different servings of apple sauce today.. Though she didn't drink much.
Today was also parent teacher conferences. They mostly only had comments of improvement, but her fine motor skills could still use strengthening, so that holding a pencil and writing doesn't feel so strenuous. New ideas for working on this include, mazes, dot to dots, puzzles, punching paper, scissor cutting, and coloring. They were also doing a bookfair at school, and had all the kids fill out book wish lists.. Scarlett only had one item in the list- the 3D Zoo book. I bought it for her, but am thinking maybe to save it for Easter or st pattys day present. I also got a book based on BoB Marleys "everything is gonna be alright". Scarlett loves that song.
So pretty much I'm just sitting up worrying about my children even though I'm so exhausted I should be sleeping. Scarlett got sick and throwing up about two times when she was small, both were terrible and I have not forgotten them, but she is still here, she survived it.
My cousin Spring texted me out of the blue today. I told her about my sick kids, and she said, just remember to tell yourself "I can do hard things". That is definitely something I need to remember and hold strong to.
Choosing the right
This post will be more on the vague and philosophical side. It never ceases to amaze me how the harder I try to choose the right, the more intently the adversary comes to tempt me with things he knows I have difficulty resisting! I keep thinking, "once I make this big step, all of this will be easier," but am then met with another immense stumbling block. It is so difficult to put off the natural man.
It would be so much easier if sin didn't provide short and instantaneous satisfaction (though fleeting).
My Sister Sarah once told me that Satan is working hard to keep me from the temple because he knows that I will be an incredible ambassador for good. It's hard to see one's own potential, but I try to remember that and soldier on. I appreciate any words of encouragement.
